What is good posture? Good posture is when the ankle, knee, hips, shoulders and ears are all in alignment.

Your body is an amazing machine. It adapts and improves to be better at the demands that you place it under. So when you ask your body to sit at a desk for 8-10 hours a day it reacts by getting better at sitting at a desk. Your muscles shorten and lengthen where appropriate to make it easier for you to sit for long periods.
Unfortunately this manipulation can change the position of your joints and restrict movements causing pain whenever you move.
Poor posture can also inhibit breathing patterns by increasing stress levels, something we all have enough of.
During your first session at Symmetry Fitness we will assess your posture and write an individual corrective program including mobilizations, stretching and exercises to bring you into correct alignment. This program will be used in conjunction with other programs designed to help you achieve your goals.
